In cooperation with iSAQB, this year’s ANNIVERSARY edition of the OBJEKTspektrum Information Days will be all about the topic of ‘The Polyglot Architect: Welcome to Babylon’.

Until a few years ago, the majority of software was developed in the IT sector using no more than one programming language and very few architecture styles for one platform.

As applications now exist on a diversity of platforms with a variety of different programming and design approaches and since the ‘one size fits all’ approach hardly ever works in this context, today’s architect has to speak several languages and often wear several (project) hats.

On top of the client’s language, the architect must also learn to speak the languages of developers and project managers.

Translating between different worlds, an architect is required to act as a ‘hitchhiker’s guide to the project galaxy’ avoiding any crash landings.

This year’s Architecture Days will provide an insight into the different facets of this challenge, various ways of tackling it and the pitfalls to avoid in doing so.
