The iSAQB has released its new Advanced Level module Architecture in the Context of Agentic Software Engineering (AGENTA). It is the 21st CPSA-Advanced Level module overall and the second to focus on software architecture in the context of artificial intelligence. The curriculum is already available in English, while the German version will follow soon.
The new module explores how software architecture fits into modern AI-supported development processes. It covers not only AI-Assisted Architecture—where AI helps simplify or enhance traditional architectural tasks—but, more importantly, the integration of software architecture into agentic development workflows. How should architectural styles, principles, and decisions be represented in agentic environments? How can architectural rules be embedded directly into agent loops? How do these techniques reshape architectural roles, and what must be considered from a compliance and security perspective?
The iSAQB sees this module as a key milestone on the journey from vibe coding to professional agentic software engineering. Through practical exercises and case studies, participants gain hands-on experience with topics such as context engineering and harness engineering, learn how to apply guardrails effectively, and explore techniques for extracting architectural knowledge from existing systems. Rather than focusing on agentic coding itself, the training builds on these concepts to rethink software architecture for the age of AI.
Participants should have a basic understanding of AI and agentic coding. The training lasts at least three days. Upon successful completion, participants receive 20 Credit Points in the methodological competence area and 10 Credit Points in the technical competence area. These Credit Points can be applied toward the Certified Professional for Software Architecture – Advanced Level (CPSA-Advanced Level) certification.
